AP Style Antichrist, anti-Christ

The AP Stylebook holds that “Antichrist” is the proper name for the individual the Bible says will challenge Christ. For example,

  • The Bible teaches that the Antichrist will challenge Christ in the end times.

The adjective “anti-Christ” should be applied to someone or something opposed to Christ. For example,

  • The anti-Christ student explained at length his distaste for organized religion.
