The AP Stylebook holds that an event cannot be described as an “annual” event until is has been held in at least two successive years.
Do not use the term “first annual.” Instead, note that the sponsors plan to hold the event annually.
Lowercase “annual meeting” in all uses. For example,
- We are hosting our annual meeting next month in Atlanta.
