AP Style Air Force One

The U.S. Air Force applies “Air Force One” to any of its aircraft the president of the United States may be using.

However, in ordinary usage, “Air Force One” is the name of the Air Force plane that is normally reserved for the president’s use.

“Air Force One” should be capitalized. For example,

  • The president arrived today in Chicago aboard Air Force One.
